REVIEW | Iron Chef Japanese Steak House - teppanyaki dining experience in Mississauga

My first Teppanyaki experience was about a few years ago at a friend's birthday party. I immediately took a liking to a dining experience that is both fun, interactive and delicious. I mean, who can say no to watching your food being cooked in front of you as the Chef performs some tricks? Recently I went to a Mississauga Teppanyaki restaurant called Iron Chef Japanese Steakhouse.

For those of you that are not familiar with the term, 'Teppanyaki,' it is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses a large iron griddle to cook food. Usually, diners will be seated surrounded the large iron griddle as the Chef cooks seafood, steaks, chicken and vegetables.

At Iron Chef Japanese Steakhouse, there's two main dining areas each with 2 grills.  After you place your order, the chef will bring all necessary ingredients to cook for the diners.  They usually come with little tools to perform various 'fire-shows' which is very entertaining!

Miso Soup, Salad and a pair of sauces to accompany our meal.  When you order a Teppanyaki combo, it includes soup, salad, rice and dessert.

It takes about 10 - 15 minutes for the Chef to cook all the vegetables and then meat/seafood that you order.  I love that it comes right off the grill for you!

Iron Chef Steakhouse is located on Eglinton and Tomken Road, tucked away in a plaza.  The service is friendly and the price is great for their Teppanyaki combos, so definitely give this place a try! With the 2 dining areas for Teppanyaki and another area for regular diners, it looks like it would be great for bigger groups as well.
