REVIEW | Momofuku Milk Bar - the infamous crack pies are finally in Toronto!

New York City's popular dessert bar has made its way to Toronto to join the rest of the Momofuku family by David Chang.  Momofuku Milk Bar is a bakery-inspired dessert "cafe" started by Christina Tosi alongside David Chang.  This Toronto location is more of a refrigerated glass room on the 2nd floor of the Momofuku complex in the Shangri-La Toronto, but nonetheless has some the original Milk Bar's best offerings.

When you walk into the Momofuku complex inside the Shangri la, simply walk up the stairs to find a glass room with the words "Milk" on it.  We love this fluorescent lightup logo and the black chalk board with pink accents and cute images.

Open the glass door and make sure you shut it since the room is refrigerated!  We're hoping they will someday expand the milk bar to mimic the look of the original location in Brooklyn, New York!

Once inside, you're surrounded by the Milk Bar's best offerings, their infamous Crack Pies, Cookies, Cereal, and various baking mixes.  You will also see a lot of their branded items.

Grab a cute little basket with pink handles and away you go.

The goodies I picked!  The cookies are in plastic wrappers to keep them from going bad.

Above is the full size Crack Pie - how delicious does that look? It feeds 8 - 10 people.

Milk Bar also offers delivery service for those who don't have time to drop by the shop.
to order online.

Crack Pies have toasted oat crust with gooey butter filling.
It reminded me of a butter tart but less sticky and with the right amount of sweetness.  It's made of: sugar, brown sugar, cream, egg yolks, whole oats, unbleached wheat flour, eggs, milk powder, salt, vanilla, leavening & corn flour.

Corn Cookie - with corn powder and corn flour.

Compost Cookie - with pretzels, potato chips, coffee, oats, butterscotch & chocolate chips, it's a mixture of literally everything, hence the name!  It's very chewy and you can really taste every bit of each ingredient in there... in a good way!

Blueberry & Cream Cookie - has dried blueberries and milk crumbs.

Cornflake Cookie - with cornflakes, marsh mellow & chocolate chips.

"Crack Pie" the name says it all - I'm definitely addicted and completely obsessed.

Next time you're in the area, make sure you pick up a few slices to try.  You will be grateful!
